This self-portrait is the first of a two part series titled 10704750. The text used in the portrait is from my common application. The text represents the mask high school students use when applying for college. The intent of the piece is to show the dehumanizing qualities of the common application. The questionnaire is designed to focus on the students statistics and ignores the individuality of the applicant.

This self-portrait is the second piece in a two part series titled Family Tree. The portrait is a photo mosaic made from pictures of my ancestors. The intent of the piece is to portray the importance genetics and family is to the talent and character of an individual. The piece is the unveiling of the person behind the mask and it shows that family makes the individual.
